A family that sings together...

Greetings!
Elsa and Jonas have readjusted to non-Hawaii time and are back in school learning, laughing, and playing!  It is great to hear stories about their adventures at school and hear about the connections they are making between things.  When we read stories now, Elsa and Jonas can connect the actions or pictures other stories they have read or things that happened at school.  It is very exciting to see all this great cognition!

We can't figure out how to post the video here but on our facebook pages you can find a short 'jam' session of the whole family playing a song.  The original song is by the "not-its" a local kid-rock band...their version is a little more rock and roll...our version is just for fun:)  Jonas and Elsa love to play music...they still perform under their moniker "Duck Chuck Holder 78".  We have no idea what it means but that is their band name and they are sticking to it.   Too much fun!

We are getting close to the annual march for babies with March of Dimes.  We have signed up this year after taking a year off and are really looking forward to seeing lots of people that know E and J from their adventures in the hospital.

God Bless,

Aloha and Mahalo

Greeting!

We just returned from an amazing trip to Hawaii.  Jonas and Elsa had an amazing time!!! (Mari & Dan did too).  It was a real joy to watch Elsa and Jonas run down the beach, build sand castles, jump in waves, destroy sand castles, and repeat every day.  The highlights of the trip:

First airplane ride:  Jonas and Elsa did great on the plane and were very excited.  They had recently watched a favorite kid's show where the main character went on a plane ride and were able to connect that show to their trip.  They were interested in landing gear, wings, pilots, tray tables, buttons.  It was great!

Beach:  They couldn't get enough!  We were at the beach every morning for several hours and we brought home most of the sand in the J and E's clothes.

Sugar Cane Train: While not a huge hit with the adults, the kids seemed to really enjoy the steam train ride through the four stalks of sugar cane.

Shopping:  Elsa discovered that the ABC stores carry a lot of Hello Kitty items.

Ice Cream:  Daily stops at the local ice cream store were delicious.

Check out some of the pics:)

Happy Easter!

Greetings!

It was a great Easter at the Lysne House.  Eggs were hidden and more importantly found!  During a practice egg hiding session, Jonas dug a whole in a flower bed and buried some eggs.   We had to reteach how hide eggs after spending 10 minutes unsuccessfully looking for them.

Jonas and Elsa improved on their sprinting and egg finding at the annual easter egg hunt at Lake Lawrence.  They had been in training the past year and definitely improved!  It was a ton of fun!

Easter is a great time to celebrate and give thanks!

God Bless,
Mari & Dan & Elsa & Jonas
