New Year's Eve

Greetings, All.
Another couple days of ups and downs. Elsa and Jonas continue to struggle with their lungs. The doctors are trying to grow both of them out of their current struggles but there have been some rough times in the past 48 hours. It feels like a kick to the stomach every time we hear some bad news but we are blessed to have highly skilled doctors and nurses with plans and potential remedies.

Elsa has been fairly stable with her ventilator settings and continues to gain weight. Her eyes opened yesterday and she continues to rest comfortably in her isolete.

Jonas had a rough day yesterday. He was placed back on the high frequency ventilator and also heavily sedated to prevent him from fighting with the machine. He has since stablized and we are now in the waiting game to determine whether he can grow out of his breathing problems or if a small dose of steriods may be administered to aide his lung development.

We continue to pray for both our babies to grow and heal.

God Bless,
Dan & Mari & Elsa & Jonas

  2. Fath, love, and hope, but the greatest of these is love. That is exactly what your beautiful babies need, and there is plenty to go around. Blessings to all!

  4. Thanks so very much for your updates, Dan and Mari. We anxiously await each and every account, the struggles and the successes. We assuredly want to be there to empathise and understand, with you, those "kicks to the stomach". Tough to sit down, each day, and share with us of Elsa's and Jonas's struggles. The successes have much clearer choices of words. We are all watching and hopeful for easier words to share. You need to know that, through the tough days, we continue to be there, with you and for you. Elsa and Jonas, we pray for you and for skilled medical decisions and practices. New Year? Old Year? It doesn't matter. It's TODAY! And we hope and pray that our Lord's hands will continue His presence and assurance of His promise today and always. We love you all, Don and Delores
